Do I Even Like Computers Anymore?

The mid-2026 state of the tech

I like computers. I like to look into a computer to see what was in them. I like to write little codes and thinking about maths and logics. I like installing random OS I found online and just screw around in them. I even like to . I really like computers. It's one of my favorite hobbies.

I don't really know if I ever want to like them anymore.

Maybe it's the current state of tech at large, but just the idea of liking tech in anyway gives me this kind of disgust that it

It's the future! You will have to adapt!

The biggest thing everyone is apparently talking now is

Here's the thing. I don't think that so called Arti Inte is all bad. It could have some usage! If it was limited to "", that would be fine. But the everyone was raving about: the generative kind, that really drives me insane. Whenever I see someting along the lines of "I use to write 20 award winning books in 1 day" or "with the power of Claude code, I ported Super Smash Bros 64 to PC", my reaction wasn't, excitement, it was...

Not gonna reiterate how inefficient and inethical these sort of things are. It's true that they need enormous ammount of data to train (many of them they don't got permission to use), a metric ton of energy to compute, and most of time doesn't generate a comprehendable or accurate results.

And seemingly, many people insist that if we can't get used to it, we would be "left behind" or some shit, we have to put it everywhere in our life or else you won't be a "modern citezen". But why? Why would I want the, still in prototype, super autocorrect machine controlling what I do? What things can it do that I couldn't? If I want to write a crappy story, I have myself! I don't need a machine to give me some dull & boring wall of "words", I can just smack my keyboard around and come up with something uncomprehendable beyond beief!
