Game thought: The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy
100 lines? I only saw 5 of them!On July 3 2025, after 1 and a half year, I finally finished the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy. Now this might not seems relevent, but hear me out just a moment. After finishing that, I wanted another sort of VN/ADV type of game that I can sink into. And hey, this game is pretty hot right now, I guess it's time to get it now that steam summer sale was a thing. I did consider getting this with another highly praised game(you know who), but decided not to due to some factor(well at least I also got UFO 50 & Blue Prince, which is pretty cool. And maybe I'll get around to that after some time). So here are some of my thoughts of "Fire Emblem meets Danganrompa", or The Hundred Line: -Last Defense Academy-, I don't know how the hell to describe it.

This article will contain spoilers of the game. If you want to experience it at your own, Avoid this as best as you can.

The Characters!
This game got some wild characters! I think most of them are pretty good in some ways, only like 2 or 3 of them I don't really feel like it. The voice acting in general is also good. I mainly play the JP vocal but both that and EN have some cool stuff. Although... while playing this, I also try to do my own voice. Just my little habit when playing any game that got any dialogs in them. I'll talk about what kind of impression i got while discussing about them I guess.

But like, some how, some way, SOME FUCKING reason, I can't help but laugh and make similar remarks to her. Like either Kodaka or Ukroshi or whoever else wrote her dialouge is so playful in making fun of the that

And here's Shouma! Uhhh wait can you see him? Oh he's in the corner again? Well shucks.
So in the start, my opinion of him was that he was whatever, not good but not bad either.

The Gameplay
Being that the other half of this is an SRPG, it would be nice to explain how that works.
Basically your unit can move around the field and do attacks and various actions, basic stuffs. After you do one action, your movement went down significantly, meaning you won't just zip around and kill all invaders in sight. You got a limited ammount of APs to do all your actions. You can gain APs by killing any non-cannonfodder enemies. Doing any actions builds your voltage meter at the top. After filling up the meter and it goes above 100% (up to 300%), you can use 100% of it to enhance your unit with various buffs like a damage boost and +1 AP, or you can use it to perform their special attack, your most damaging and wide hitting attack, but it makes them unable to move for a turn.
The battles themself definitely got some challenge to it. I have to think about AP and meter management and unit / base's health pretty often. I havn't really played any strategy game a lot, but I think I can handle this pretty well. Currently have all but two battles S ranked, so that's an achivement I guess (If you want to know what mission I didn't get S rank, it was the one that has fogs. That's my only non-S rank so far, only a B. And also the "final" battle. Like the boss couldn't give a crap about wasting my time and use the all field attack that hits the barrier so hard. Ended up a C, thought I would get better tbh, the fog battle was like kinda bad, don't know what to do, this one is like my usual strat but took a bit long and barrier took a good ammpunt of damage.).
